On the last day of April, Singapore-based enterprise Global DTC showcased its advanced multimodal platforms – Digital Trade Corridor and Tez Customs – at the ministry responsible for transport in Kazakhstan. The presentation highlighted how digitalization can enhance transparency and expedite the movement of goods through Kazakhstan on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which serves as a vital link between China and Europe, crossing Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The DTC platform, especially through its Track & Trace functionality, provides the ability for shippers to monitor cargo location and check customs statuses in real-time online, as well as to update transport document information throughout the journey.
Technical integration for Track & Trace has been successfully completed in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, with efforts to bring Georgia onboard currently in progress. Additionally, discussions are being held with partners in China and Europe to further the platform’s reach.
Tez Customs, another platform introduced by Global DTC, streamlines customs processes by enabling automated, paperless customs transit clearance, registration, and electronic transit declarations, reducing processing times to a mere 30 minutes.
This digital innovation has coincided with a significant uptick in cargo traffic along the TITR, which witnessed a 33% increase in the first quarter of this year when compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.
