Research indicates that Generative AI (GenAI) integration and automation can boost productivity, sales, and customer satisfaction.
Boomi™, a leader in intelligent integration and automation, revealed insights from its Boomi Discovery Report, conducted by 451 Research. This study, involving 650 business and IT leaders across various industries, explores how enterprises utilize GenAI for system integration and process automation, enhancing business operations.
Businesses face increasing digital fragmentation, from application sprawl and departmental disconnects to rising costs and skill shortages. GenAI promises more efficient, cost-effective operations and better experiences for customers and employees, provided businesses adopt it.
The Boomi Discovery Report highlights GenAI’s significant impact on integration. Over half of the respondents (55%) deemed GenAI crucial for integrating data, applications, and processes. Key drivers for AI adoption included increased productivity (44%), sales and revenue growth (40%), and improved customer experience (39%).
However, integration complexity poses challenges, such as security and privacy concerns (42%), data quality and availability issues (42%), and model training reliability (31%). Despite these challenges, 90% of respondents believe GenAI can enhance the speed and quality of data, application, and process integrations.
“Seamless integration and automation of business processes are top priorities for many enterprises,” said Steve Lucas, CEO at Boomi. “As organizations scale and face unforeseen challenges, managing data, technology, and processes becomes tougher. GenAI offers a powerful tool to streamline integration and automation, allowing IT teams to focus on innovation. Leveraging GenAI effectively is the next business imperative. Boomi is leading the GenAI charge in this space.”
Additional key findings from the report include:
- IT leaders trust GenAI more than business leaders: 82% of IT CxOs trust GenAI outputs, compared to 63% of business CxOs.
- Accuracy and consistency drive trust in GenAI: 57% of business leaders value AI output accuracy, and 48% value consistency and reliability.
- Enterprise execs see significant value in GenAI: Benefits include improved process accuracy (38%), cost reduction (38%), innovation (34%), streamlined operations (31%), optimized resources (28%), and competitive advantage (27%).
- GenAI benefits all integrations: All respondents believe GenAI-assisted integration platforms enhance virtually any type of integration.
“Integration and automation underpin business agility,” said Matt McLarty, CTO at Boomi. “Though challenging, a unified approach to integration and automation, powered by AI, offers comprehensive advantages while reducing complexity.”
