BM Enhances Consulting Services to Maximize ROI on Generative AI and Optimize Cloud Costs
IBM (NYSE: IBM) has announced an expansion of its consulting services to help businesses extract greater value from Oracle’s cloud applications and generative AI technologies. This move addresses the anticipated 89% increase in compute costs by 2025 and the skills gap in AI expertise, as reported by the IBM Institute for Business Value.
To tackle these challenges, IBM Consulting is launching a broader network of certified consultants skilled in Oracle’s core technologies, such as OCI Generative AI, OCI AI Services, and OCI Data Science, as well as IBM’s own watsonx AI platform. This initiative aims to help clients deploy AI models tailored to their specific needs, including IBM Granite and other third-party solutions, to optimize their AI investments and reduce implementation costs.
IBM’s recent acquisition of Accelalpha, a global Oracle services provider, further strengthens its Oracle consulting capabilities. This acquisition will assist clients in digitizing core business operations and accelerating the adoption of Oracle Cloud Applications.
“Our clients are eager to extend generative AI initiatives but are concerned about rising compute costs and a lack of in-house AI skills,” said Corinne Koppel, Global Oracle Practice Leader at IBM Consulting. “We’re providing more skills and solutions to help them optimize their investments in Oracle’s generative AI technology.”
IBM Consulting is already supporting Oracle clients by integrating generative AI, traditional AI, and automation into industry-specific solutions, enhancing Oracle Fusion Applications. IBM has helped clients in sectors such as human resources, procurement, finance, and the public sector expand their AI use cases.
The AI-powered engagement platform, IBM Consulting Advantage, accelerates clients’ time-to-value by improving consistency, quality, and speed of delivery. The platform also enhances OCI migration and modernization capabilities with generative AI-powered assets, facilitating a smooth transition of applications and data to OCI.
IBM and Oracle’s 38-year partnership continues to evolve, exemplified by collaborations like the availability of Red Hat OpenShift on OCI. Oracle is also a member of the AI Alliance, co-founded by IBM in 2023, promoting open innovation and science in AI.
With deep industry expertise and a collaborative approach through IBM Garage, IBM Consulting drives business transformation for over 3,000 global companies, leveraging technologies such as hybrid cloud and AI to address complex challenges.
