SAP has set its sights on acquiring WalkMe, aiming to integrate the latter’s digital adoption platforms (DAPs) to bolster its offerings that support customers through their digital transformation endeavors.
An agreement for the acquisition has been reached, and, pending standard closing conditions, the acquisition is anticipated to be finalized in the third quarter, as announced by SAP and WalkMe.
“This acquisition is a testament to our commitment to supporting end users, as it enables them to rapidly embrace new solutions and maximize their IT investments,” Christian Klein, CEO and member of the executive board of SAP, stated.
WalkMe’s DAP solutions offer interactive guidance and automation features that facilitate user workflows across diverse applications, helping organizations adapt to ongoing technological changes. These solutions will continue to support non-SAP applications even after the acquisition.
Once the acquisition is complete, WalkMe’s technology is expected to enhance SAP’s Business Transformation portfolio.
The forthcoming AI copilot from WalkMe will operate as an overlay across applications, and its adoption capabilities are set to merge with SAP’s own copilot, Joule, ultimately benefiting all SAP customers.
“Joining forces with SAP marks a significant milestone for us, providing the means to amplify our product offerings and extend our reach in the market,” expressed Dan Adika, CEO of WalkMe. “With SAP’s vast ecosystem, we can unlock notable growth opportunities and deliver increased value to our clientele.”
Rafael Sweary, president of WalkM,e previously conveyed the complexities of navigating internal systems like HR and CRM, emphasizing the potential of machine learning-powered predictive analytics to preempt user challenges and proactively offer support, thereby preventing customer frustration and loss.
