In a significant move for business cloud modernization, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has revealed a new strategic initiative with Amazon Web Services (AWS). This collaboration aims to expedite large-scale cloud transformations for customers.
The extensive multi-year agreement will enable the IT and consulting giant to utilize AWS’s data and generative AI technologies. These tools will support comprehensive cloud modernization programs tailored to a wide array of sectors.
A suite of digital transformation resources will be at customers’ disposal, including a detailed cloud modernization pathway, proprietary platforms and tools, unique investment structures, technology beta tests, and proof-of-concept (POC) projects.
TCS asserts that these resources will empower clients to create advanced architectures, harness cloud native features, and drive significant business modernization at scale. The program targets a diverse range of industries encompassing banking, financial services, life sciences, healthcare, travel, transportation, hospitality, manufacturing, automotive, and communications.
Krishna Mohan, deputy head of TCS’ AI.Cloud Unit, expressed enthusiasm about the prospects this partnership brings. He highlighted the combined power of TCS’s industry-specific expertise and AWS’s cutting-edge technologies to deliver unmatched value through generative AI and large-scale modernization.
This initiative builds upon an already robust relationship between TCS and AWS, with TCS being recognized as an AWS Premier Tier Service Partner. The company boasts numerous AWS specializations, exceeding 38 AWS competencies and service validations.
Furthermore, in November 2023, TCS introduced its AWS generative AI practice to assist customers in revolutionizing their value chains with AWS’s generative AI services.
With this new partnership, TCS aims to dismantle the conventional hurdles that hinder the adoption of next-generation technologies, such as the challenge of converting, rewriting, and porting legacy systems. The collaboration promises to deliver expedited value by leveraging AWS’s technologies in conjunction with TCS’s contextual intelligence and ability to craft proprietary intellectual property on AWS.
The partnership also includes a commitment from AWS to assist in the upskilling and certification of 25,000 TCS employees in the latest cloud and generative AI technologies.
Matt Garman, AWS’s senior vice president of sales, marketing, and global services, echoed the enthusiasm for this expanded strategic partnership. He emphasized the combined strengths of AWS’s comprehensive service offerings and TCS’s domain expertise, which will facilitate accelerated enterprise transformations for customers. Garman also noted the upskilling of TCS professionals as a key element in meeting the dynamic needs of customers and fostering innovative solutions for their modernization journeys.
